Exercise iii: “Through the compound eyes of a fly the eye of the needle resolves as a crossroads.” Discuss.

“I have a team of assistants and some very reliable investments, but yes, nothing is certain in this world. Vulnerability of the system is a logarithmic ascent as the time scale shifts. I need to consider ways that I can fix that.”
“Solutions are most likely to be found up-time towards Les Pyramides. Or perhaps beyond?”
“I can’t go there. I have now irrevocably tethered the array to Prospect House. I can’t change the camera angle now, and if I left the project I could not assure its safe running. Sure, all of the major talent moves up-time towards the singularity, but that’s just not practical in this case. Sure, I’ve sent representatives up there to look for solutions. Most of them never come back, and the few who do come back with tantalising hints of technological innovations, but that’s what they do at Les Pyramides: hook you with the lure of endless potential.”
