“Six years ago, we released The Puntigamer Hypothesis. It was a turning point, it was an axis mundi in the Entropy Circus landscape. Everything that followed it was an implicit addendum.” Krishna is deep inside his schtick. He adjusts his thick-rimmed spectacles with the awareness of a man who was spent too much of the last two years on ZOOM.
“He was going to say “addenda” but I coached him on this.” Kitchener swats a wasp that has the face of Lester Bangs and grinds it into the carpet with her heel. “We’ve come a long way, yeah? This is our third album this year…”
“Second album, Sally.” Kirchner raises a large defensive hand. “Sure there’s Zwischenbrücken one and two, but they’re an extended gestalt.”
“Tell us more, Slomo.” Kitchener types idily on her sysex calculator. “Really! I’m interested.”
“That was it really,” says Kirchner, “it’s an extended gestalt.”
“And The Puntigamer Hypothesis was an extended gestalt too, isn’t that correct?” Kitchener stops typing and gives Krishna an interested expression.
“It’s all extended gestalts really. All the way down. Some of the extended gestalts have their own annexes and mezzanines. And at the end of the day: why shouldn’t they?” Krishna searches around for a lost Biro.
“I really have no idea. But if this is the sorry underpass we’ve come to, are we going to consider the next six years of recordings as a fat stack of addenda to The Ottakringer Protokol? Is that how we roll?”
“You seem upset about this, Sally.” Kirchner extends a consoling hand and then withdraws it abruptly.
“Maybe three years. Is that okay with you?” Krishna pockets a green Biro that may or may not ever have been his property.
