the iotacism tarot

“This tarot deck is neither an act of protest nor a revolution. It is simply a nosedive into an unconscious that cannot be certain of a collective ground of being, or any other ground of being. It takes its cues from the anarchistic spirit of Taoism and Zen Buddhism and the cosmic pessimism of the Gnostics, but it is not primarily a negative set of images; it is intended to be comical as often as it is serious. There are references to both high art and pop culture in these cards, but it is not a postmodern tarot. It is also not ostensibly occult in that the clews are most often hidden in plain sight. Then again, there are other images which are opaque and derive their power from their denial of access across their territories…”

The iotacism tarot was drawn during the early months of 2015.
